Red Station is the 7th installment in the Death’s Head Press Splatter Western Series. Kenzie Jennings brilliant story telling was first introduced to me in her debut novel, Reception. Once again, she does not disappoint!
Red Station starts out with the characters in a stage coach headed through the desolate Wild West to their destinations. All of the passengers come from different backgrounds and walks of life so Jennings gives us some interesting dialogue between them during the ride to their way station. Inside the carriage are Dr. Pickering, newlyweds Patience and her husband Finch and a striking woman in a red dress named Clyde.
Clyde has had some life experiences that have made her very astute to her surroundings. She may be beautiful and unassuming, but we quickly find out things are not what they seem. Those life experiences from her past will serve her well in her immediate future!
Red Station reads like a locomotive, slowly building up steam to get the train moving. Once this story starts moving, get ready for the ride because all hell breaks loose! Do yourself a favor, pick up a copy and read Red Station! I can’t wait to see what Kenzie Jennings comes up with next!!
